COLOUR TEMPERATURE

Color temperature describes the degree of warmth visually found in a color. Color temperature divided into two groups, warm colors and cool colors.

WARM COLOR

- A color that gives the viewer a sense of bright, warmth, energy, heat, such as the colors of the sun.

COOL COLOR

- A cool color gives a sense of calm, coolness, cold, stillness, such as the colors of the ocean.

Shape is one of the 7 elements of art. When defining it within the study of art, shape in anenclosed space, the boundaries of which are defined by other elements of art like lines, colors, values and textures.Shapes are limited to 2 dimensions like length and width.

GEOMETRIC shapes circles, rectangles, squares, tringles and so on have the clear edges one achieves when using tools to create them.

ORGANIC shapes have natural, less well defined edges.

Positive Shape

Positive shapes occupy positive space. The area around positive shapes, the background, is negative space. A solid piece of sculpture occupies space, and makes the space, when they create a work of art. In this diagram, the negative shapes are as clear and distinct as the positive shapes.

The negative shape inside this sculpture repeats the overall structure of the sculptor's positive shapes. The geometry of the boxes piled high emphasizes gravity, and the negative shape in the middle of the scul pure gives it a light, playful appearance.Negative Shapes

COLOUR VALUE

Color value refers to the lightness or darkness of a color. Value becomes critical in a work which has no colors other than black or white. Every color can produce a variety of tones; how light or dark these are depends on the color.

These are the color value that we make using primary color; YELLOW, RED, BLUE. Starts with the color, we keep on adding white color to get the lightest color.

*Primary colors are colors that cannot be created through the mixing of other colors.

*A colour produced by mixing two additive primary colour are cyan (a mixture of blue and green), magenta (a mixture of blue and red), and yellow (a mixture of green and red).

The meaning of colors can vary depending on culture and circumstances.

Each color has many aspects to it but you can easily learn the language of color by understanding a few simple concepts which I will teach you here.Color is a form of non verbal communication. It is not a static energy and its meaning can change from one day to the next with any individual - it all depends on what energy they are expressing at that point in time.

MEANING OF COLOUR....

RED is the color of energy, passion, action, ambition and determination. It is also the color of anger and sexual passion.

ORANGE is the color of social communication and optimism. From a negative color meaning it is also a sign of pessimism and superficiality.

Yellow is the color of the mind and the intellect. It is optimistic and cheerful. However it can also suggest impatience, criticism and cowardice.

Green is the color of balance and growth. It can mean both self-reliance as a positive and possessiveness as a negative, among many other meanings.

Blue is the color of trust and peace. It can suggest loyalty and integrity as well as conservatism and frigidity.

Indigo is the color of intuition. In the meaning of colors it can mean idealism and structure as well as ritualistic and addictive.

Purple is the color of the imagination. It can be creative and individual or immature and impractical.

Turquoise is communication and clarity of mind. It can also be impractical and idealistic.

Pink is unconditional love and nurturing. Pink can also be immature, silly and girlish.

Magenta is a color of universal harmony and emotional balance. It is spiritual yet practical, encouraging common sense and a balanced outlook on life.

Brown is a friendly yet serious, down-to-earth color that relates to security, protection, comfort and material wealth.GRAY 

Gray is the color of compromise - being neither black nor white, it is the transition between two non-colors. It is unemotional and detached and can be indecisive.

Silver has a feminine energy; it is related to the moon and the ebb and flow of the tides - it is fluid, emotional, sensitive and mysterious.

Gold is the color of success, achievement and triumph. Associated with abundance and prosperity, luxury and quality, prestige and sophistication, value and elegance, the color psychology of gold implies affluence, material wealth and extravagance.


White is color at its most complete and pure, the color of perfection. The color meaning of white is purity, innocence, wholeness and completion.

Black is the color of the hidden, the secretive and the unknown, creating an air of mystery.
